I've tried both in tournaments before and still not sure what I like best. I like ponder but the downside is when you look at the 3 cards and see a really good card and the other two are completely crappy, that means you'll have two dead draws coming up.

Thats why ponder is better if you have fetch lands just like brainstorm, how good is brainstorm if u have no shufle effects. Still i feel in geneal ponder is the better card maybe in standard where u cant realy run as many fetches and its not as important to see that one card deeper preordain is better but in the big picture ponder i feel is the better card its close though
